Apex continues growth, Fortis announces new acquisitions and more

Apex International, a supplier of anilox rolls, sleeves, glue sets, and metering products, held a celebratory groundbreaking to mark the commencement of construction on its new Pennsylvania manufacturing facility.

The new facility is located in the Alta Vista Business Park in Fallowfield Township, PA and will be replace the existing location in Donora, PA. Guardian Construction Management Services, an established southeast construction management partner, is the selected contractor for the building initiative. Leadership teams from Apex International and Guardian Construction were onsite to conduct the groundbreaking in mid-August.

“Apex International planned major investments into global facilities and capital equipment to address anticipated industry growth,” states Ruud van Cuijk, managing director of Apex North America. “It is exciting to witness the initiative come to fruition – this long-awaited expansion will give our customers much quicker order turnaround and much more.”

Fortis Solutions Group, a provider of high impact printed packaging solutions and a portfolio company of funds managed by Harvest Partners, LP, has announced the acquisition of Digital Dogma Corp. based in Santa Fe Springs, CA, USA. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Digital Dogma is a digital manufacturer of pressure sensitive labels, shrink sleeves and flexible packaging, serving the food and beverage, wine and spirits, nutraceutical, health and beauty, and industrial end markets from its locations in Santa Fe Springs and Paso Robles, CA.

The move comes shortly after Fortis announced the acquisition of Identi-Graphics, a manufacturer and printer of pressure sensitive labels and flexible packaging products serving the snack, bakery, confectionary, cosmetic and chemical end markets in the US and Canada. The company, based in Illinois, specializes in the printing of bar wrappers for the nutritional supplement industry in both heat and cold seal applications.
